hi friends & family! wow, i think i forgot what blogging was...sorry it's been so long since my last entry...so much has happened, but things are finally calming down. i was actually waiting for our photos so i could post some...but they're coming soon! so excited!! actually we've already seen the "pre-wedding" photos, but i'll keep you all in suspense until we have all of them to send out. ;)
so our wedding was a-mazing!! despite the five days of florida thunderstorms leading up to the rehearsal, it was perfect. mom says grandpa curt was looking down on us because the skies cleared up a few minutes before the rehearsal and it didn't rain again the whole time we were there. the sun broke through some evening clouds during our vows. :)
my bridesmaids and sisters-in-law (soon to be, sarah!!) celebrated a little bachelorette party, my mom, family and extended family helped with the last minute details, i finished writing the ceremony and surprisingly, nothing was 'last minute'. at least not that i can remember-ha! so rehearsal, rehearsal dinner (nothing like pizza, salads and drinks on my parents back porch!), pre-wedding nerves, pre-wedding run (i dared luke to cross the pipe and so we crossed the pipe one time before joining our lives, officially), manicures, pedicures, pretty hair, pretty make-up (thanks again, bethany!), and then came the bride. beautiful beach ceremony that went so smoothly, thanks to laura, luke's sister who was our amazing "reverend". luke's other sister, michelle read a beautiful song, the sand ceremony went perfect and jeb remembered the rings. :) the reception was a blast-we danced to "then" by brad paisley, dad twirled me to "i loved her first" by heartland then broke out some moves to his all time favorite song "maggie may" by rod stewart. luke danced with my momma since his couldn't be there, then we took turns dancing with our siblings. yummy buffet, mingling, dancing, cake cutting, dancing, bouquet tossing, toasts, more dancing (whoop whoop), garter retrieving and saying our goodnights/goodbyes. a brunch the following morning allowed some more time with family and friends we don't get to see that often, then a nice, relaxing week in the florida sunshine. luke and i made it down to long boat key (thanks for the rec, tom and jody!) for a couple days (what was more exciting luke, our honeymoon or saying hello to dick vitale?! hehe, kidding)...it really went perfectly and we have so many memories.
we're enjoying married life, traveling, organizing our house, soccer games, more traveling and enjoying a beautiful seattle summer...so more photos to come, but in the mean time, we wanted to say "thanks" to everyone for joining us as we celebrated our wedding, sending fabulous gifts and cards, and for wishing us happiness in our new adventure...
